  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs Large eggs are recommended for best results.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk Use any milk of your choice.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is ideal for flavor.
For the Filling and Topping
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened Ensure fully softened for creamy texture.
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with mix-ins like nuts.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, and powdered sugar until creamy. Fold in the whipped topping.
  5. Spoon the sweet marshmallow filling over the chocolate batter, spreading it evenly.
  6. Pour the remaining chocolate batter on top, then sprinkle chocolate chips and drizzle with melted butter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until set, and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. For storage, cover with plastic wrap or foil and keep in the refrigerator for up to five days.
