Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour half of the chocolate batter into the baking dish.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, and powdered sugar until creamy. Fold in the whipped topping.
- Spoon the sweet marshmallow filling over the chocolate batter, spreading it evenly.
- Pour the remaining chocolate batter on top, then sprinkle chocolate chips and drizzle with melted butter.
Baking
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until set, and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
This casserole is best served warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. For storage, cover with plastic wrap or foil and keep in the refrigerator for up to five days.
