Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour half of this chocolate batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until light and fluffy.
- Spoon the marshmallow filling evenly over the chocolate batter layer.
- Carefully spread the remaining chocolate batter over the top.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the casserole and drizzle melted butter across it.
Baking
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the center is mostly set and the top is rich and fudgy.
- Let it cool slightly before serving warm.
Serving
- Cut the casserole into generous squares and serve with a splash of cold milk and an extra spoonful of marshmallow fluff on top.
