Ingredients
  

For the chocolate base
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the marshmallow filling
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
For assembly
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour half of this chocolate batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, and powdered sugar until creamy.
  5. Gently fold in the whipped topping until light and fluffy.
  6. Spoon the marshmallow filling evenly over the chocolate batter layer.
  7. Carefully spread the remaining chocolate batter over the top.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the casserole and drizzle melted butter across it.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the center is mostly set and the top is rich and fudgy.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving warm.
Serving
  1. Cut the casserole into generous squares and serve with a splash of cold milk and an extra spoonful of marshmallow fluff on top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
