Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Crumble Topping
- To make the crumble topping, mix flour, brown sugar, cold diced butter, and cinnamon in a bowl until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble over the batter in the loaf pan.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
- Once cooled, drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the loaf cake before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve sliced on a plate, drizzled with extra caramel sauce. Pairs well with tea or coffee. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
