Ingredients

For the Jello Shots
  • 1 cup apple juice Use high-quality apple juice for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cinnamon whiskey (or your choice of whiskey) Increase the amount for a stronger taste.
  • 1 packet (3 oz) apple-flavored Jello
  • 1/2 cup apple pie filling
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional) Add before serving.
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish (optional) Sprinkle on top before serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, heat the apple juice and water together over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the apple-flavored Jello. Stir well until the Jello completely dissolves.
  3. Pour in the cinnamon whiskey and mix well.
  4. In small plastic cups, add a spoonful of apple pie filling to the bottom.
  5. Carefully pour the Jello mixture over the apple pie filling until the cups are nearly full.
  6. Place the cups in the refrigerator and allow them to set for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  7. Once set, add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with ground cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Store any leftover Apple Pie Jello Shots in the refrigerator for about 3 to 5 days. Keep them covered to prevent flavor absorption. You can substitute whiskey for more apple juice or sparkling cider for a non-alcoholic version. Experiment with different flavors of Jello and fruit fillings for variations.
