Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 580 g flour All-purpose flour
  • 180 ml milk Lukewarm, not too hot
  • 120 g sugar
  • 2 large eggs Large eggs
  • 25 g fresh yeast Alternatively, use 10 g of dry yeast
  • 80 g butter Melted
  • 1 zest of 1 orange and 1 1/2 lemons
  • 3 tablespoons orange blossom water Can be substituted with vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Candied fruits For topping
  • 1 liter heavy cream 35% fat content
  • 2/3 cup sugar For the filling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Gently warm the milk and melt the butter together.
  3. Add the milk and butter mixture to the flour mixture.
  4. Crack in the eggs, add the zesty orange and lemon, along with the orange blossom water.
  5. Mix until it transforms into a soft dough.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Filling and Shaping
  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  2. Spread the whipped cream filling mixed with sugar across it.
  3. Roll the dough into a log and place it in a greased mold to rise again.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Let it cool and finish with a sprinkle of candied fruits.

Notes

Wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container. Keeps well on the countertop for 2 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
