Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Gently warm the milk and melt the butter together.
- Add the milk and butter mixture to the flour mixture.
- Crack in the eggs, add the zesty orange and lemon, along with the orange blossom water.
- Mix until it transforms into a soft dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Filling and Shaping
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Spread the whipped cream filling mixed with sugar across it.
- Roll the dough into a log and place it in a greased mold to rise again.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let it cool and finish with a sprinkle of candied fruits.
Notes
Wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container. Keeps well on the countertop for 2 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
