  • 60 g butter Chopped for easier melting
  • 3/4 cup sugar Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk Any kind of milk is fine
  • 1 cup self-raising flour For the dessert base
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water To dissolve the golden syrup
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup Adds depth of flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix together milk, sugar, and flour in a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Top with chopped butter.
  3. Dissolve the golden syrup in the boiling water and pour it over the top.
  4. Microwave on high for 8 minutes in a very large bowl.
  5. Serve hot with plenty of cream.

Notes

Best served warm. Consider adding a pinch of salt, or serving with fresh fruit for added flavor. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
