  • 2 cups Fresh cranberries Choose plump, firm cranberries.
  • 1 cup Water Simple base for candying.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar The sweet bling for the syrup.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For dusting at the end.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the cranberries gently and set them aside.
Candying
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar, and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the cranberries to the boiling syrup and let them cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the cranberries with a slotted spoon and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Allow the cranberries to dry out for a few hours.
  5. Roll the dried cranberries in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  6. Let the sugary-coated cranberries set before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, infuse the water with spices like cinnamon or cardamom. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
