Ingredients

For the cake
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup whole milk Room temperature

For the filling
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
For the caramel
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans well to ensure a smooth release.
  2. In a big bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, whole milk, eggs, melted butter, flour, and sugar until the mixture is velvety and smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Let the cakes cool in the pans for a few moments before transferring them to a cooling rack.
Filling and Caramel
  1. For the filling, whisk together the remaining sweetened condensed milk, butter, and heavy cream until the mixture is creamy.
  2. To make the caramel, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and heavy cream, cooking until it reaches a luscious caramel consistency.
Assembly
  1. Once the cakes are cool, generously fill them with the creamy mixture and pour the warm caramel topping on top.
  2. Serve each slice with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. A sprinkle of toasted coconut on top can add a crunch and extra flavor.
