- In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese and powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
- Add the whole milk and vanilla extract, beating until well blended.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until combined.
- In a serving dish, layer half of the angel food cake pieces, followed by half of the cherry pie filling and half of the cream mixture.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining ingredients.
- Allow the dessert to rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Serve in elegant glass trifle bowls or simple dessert plates. A sprinkle of crushed graham crackers or a mint leaf enhances the presentation.
