Ingredients
  

Filling and Topping
  • 1 cup cherry filling
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 large egg beaten for egg wash
  • to taste Sugar for sprinkling
  • for dusting Flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie crust.
  3. Cut the rolled dough into Christmas tree shapes.
  4. Place a tablespoon of cherry filling on one side of each pie cut-out.
  5. Fold the other side over the filling and press the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with powdered sugar or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or freeze for up to three months. Consider adding almond extract or cinnamon to the filling for enhanced flavor.
