Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter alongside the granulated and brown sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, allowing them to blend perfectly into the sweet buttery mix.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  3. Gently fold in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
  4. If desired, add the white chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring them to wire racks.
