Preparation
- Whisk the chocolate pudding mix with cold milk in a large bowl until smooth. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to thicken.
- Slice the bananas into even, round pieces.
- Gently fold the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding mixture.
- Add the sliced bananas, gently folding them in to distribute evenly.
- Allow the dessert to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- For best texture, chill for at least 1 hour.
Serving
- Spoon into small glassware to admire the layers of chocolate and banana.
- Garnish with a paper-thin banana slice, a light dusting of cocoa, or shards of dark chocolate.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
Choose ripe bananas that are not overly soft. For contrasting flavor, consider adding toasted nuts or orange zest before serving. To enhance chocolate flavor, substitute 2 tablespoons of cold milk with 2 tablespoons of cacao dissolved in the milk prior to whisking.
