Ingredients
  

For the pudding
  • 1 package chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
For the assembly
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Whisk the chocolate pudding mix with cold milk in a large bowl until smooth. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to thicken.
  2. Slice the bananas into even, round pieces.
  3. Gently fold the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding mixture.
  4. Add the sliced bananas, gently folding them in to distribute evenly.
  5. Allow the dessert to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. For best texture, chill for at least 1 hour.
Serving
  1. Spoon into small glassware to admire the layers of chocolate and banana.
  2. Garnish with a paper-thin banana slice, a light dusting of cocoa, or shards of dark chocolate.
  3. Serve chilled.

Notes

Choose ripe bananas that are not overly soft. For contrasting flavor, consider adding toasted nuts or orange zest before serving. To enhance chocolate flavor, substitute 2 tablespoons of cold milk with 2 tablespoons of cacao dissolved in the milk prior to whisking.
