- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Slowly stir in the milk and chopped chocolate, and cook while stirring constantly.
- Once the chocolate melts and the pudding thickens, remove from heat.
- Whisk in the egg yolks until fully incorporated.
- Return to heat and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat again and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
- Let it cool before transferring to the fridge to chill.
Notes
To prevent lumps, mix cornstarch with a splash of milk before adding it to the saucepan. Adjust sugar to taste for a sweeter pudding. Can be served warm or chilled.
