Base Ingredients
  • 1 pack Saltine crackers Used as the base for the toffee.
  • 1 cup Butter Use high-quality butter for a richer flavor.
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used.
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream Add for a creamy texture.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Don't skip this for enhanced flavor.
Toppings
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Sprinkled on top while warm.
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar Sprinkled together with cinnamon.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
Toffee Mixture
  1. In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until it bubbles and turns a golden brown color.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Pour the toffee mixture over the Saltine crackers, ensuring all corners are covered.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, watching for bubbling and golden edges.
  3. While warm, sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. Pair with vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert experience.
