Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Measure flour by spooning it into the cup and leveling it.
  • 0.5 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon Adjust to taste.
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 0.25 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups butter, melted
Glaze
  • 0.5 cups powdered sugar Whisk with a dash of cinnamon for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and a dash of cinnamon for the glaze.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf, let it set, then slice and serve.

Notes

Store at room temperature wrapped in parchment for up to 2 days. Refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze individual slices for up to 1 month. Warm slightly before serving.
