Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, and granulated sugar, stirring until you have a crumbly mixture.
- Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, creating a firm base.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Coconut Layer
- While the base is baking, in another bowl, mix the shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
- Once the base is out of the oven, spread the coconut mixture evenly over it.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15-18 minutes, or until the coconut layer is set and slightly golden at the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Chocolate Layer
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil, microwaving in 30-second intervals and stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled coconut layer, spreading it evenly.
Finishing Touches
- Refrigerate for at least an hour until the chocolate is firm.
- Once set, cut into bars and enjoy the delightful flavors!
Notes
These bars are best enjoyed chilled. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
