Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure slightly cooled before mixing.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Coconut Layer Ingredients
  • 1 cup shredded coconut Sweetened coconut can be used.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
Chocolate Layer Ingredients
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil To help the chocolate melt smoothly.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, and granulated sugar, stirring until you have a crumbly mixture.
  3. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, creating a firm base.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Coconut Layer
  1. While the base is baking, in another bowl, mix the shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
  2. Once the base is out of the oven, spread the coconut mixture evenly over it.
  3. Return to the oven and bake for another 15-18 minutes, or until the coconut layer is set and slightly golden at the edges.
  4. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Chocolate Layer
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil, microwaving in 30-second intervals and stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled coconut layer, spreading it evenly.
Finishing Touches
  1. Refrigerate for at least an hour until the chocolate is firm.
  2. Once set, cut into bars and enjoy the delightful flavors!

Notes

These bars are best enjoyed chilled. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
