Preparation
- Combine the manteca and sugar in a bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Blend in the condensed milk, followed by the eggs and vanilla essence.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until well incorporated.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Baking
- Roll out the chilled dough to approximately 0.5 cm thick and cut into shapes.
- Place them on a greased baking sheet and preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
To elevate your cookies, experiment with mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit. They can also be used as a base for ice cream sandwiches!
