Ingredients
  

Cookie Base Ingredients
  • 180 grams Manteca (shortening)
  • 100 grams Sugar
  • 190 grams Condensed Milk
  • 2 pieces Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 400 grams Harina 0000 (all-purpose flour)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the manteca and sugar in a bowl, stirring until smooth.
  2. Blend in the condensed milk, followed by the eggs and vanilla essence.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.
  4. Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until well incorporated.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Baking
  1. Roll out the chilled dough to approximately 0.5 cm thick and cut into shapes.
  2. Place them on a greased baking sheet and preheat the oven to 180°C.
  3. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

To elevate your cookies, experiment with mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit. They can also be used as a base for ice cream sandwiches!
