Ingredients
  

Pastry and Filling
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed Ensure pastry is well-thawed.
  • 1/2 cup raspberry or strawberry jam (or any holiday jam) Feel free to use different jams.
  • 1 cup sweetened cream cheese or mascarpone
  • 1 each egg, for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting Optional: holiday sprinkles or white chocolate drizzle for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay one sheet of puff pastry on the prepared tray and spread a thin layer of sweetened cream cheese or mascarpone on it.
  3. Dollop your chosen jam on top of the cream cheese layer, swirling lightly.
  4. Lay the second sheet of puff pastry over the jam-filled base and cut out a large Christmas tree shape.
  5. Make horizontal cuts on each side of the tree to form branches and twist each branch gently.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water for the egg wash and brush over the pastry.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  2. Dust the baked tree with powdered sugar and add optional sprinkles or white chocolate drizzle before serving.

Notes

To store, keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. They are best enjoyed fresh.
