Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 8 oz lobster meat, chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Flavor enhancements
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, lobster, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, green onions, garlic, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a rich filling.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and spread the seafood mixture evenly down the center.
  3. Carefully fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges tightly, ensuring no gaps remain.
  4. Brush the entire pastry with beaten egg, paying attention to the seams, and sprinkle with lemon zest.
Baking
  1. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is deeply golden brown and flaky.
  2. Allow the strudel to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure your puff pastry is fully thawed before using it; this will ensure it bakes up light and airy. For an extra touch, consider incorporating some chopped herbs into your filling for added flavor.
