Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it with unsalted butter or non-stick spray.
- Pour the chocolate cake mix into the baking dish, spreading it flat and evenly across the bottom.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, whole milk, and vanilla extract until thickened.
- Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cake mix, ensuring to cover it well. Gently mix the mixture with a fork to avoid dry pockets.
- Sprinkle 1.5 cups of chocolate chips across the top of the mixture.
Baking
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the edges are firm and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Remove the cake from the oven and immediately sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of chocolate chips over the top.
- Allow it to set for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled chocolate sauce, or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
