Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a small square pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the crushed biscuits, melted butter, sugar, and optional cardamom. Press the mixture into the prepared pan to form a firm base.
- Chill the base in the refrigerator.
Pistachio Layer
- Grind the raw pistachios into a coarse crumble and mix with sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Spread this mixture over the chilled biscuit base.
Chocolate Layer
- Melt the chocolate and butter together over gentle heat, stirring until smooth.
- Pour this chocolate mixture over the pistachio layer and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top.
Chilling
- Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least two hours to firm up.
Serving
- Once set, cut into squares or bars and serve at room temperature with tea or coffee.
Notes
Store any leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for freshness. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
