Ingredients
  

For the Pie
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) You can substitute with pecans or leave out for nut-free
For Serving
  • 1 cup heavy cream For whipping and serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly soft.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with whipped cream on the side or drizzled over slices.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding a splash of espresso powder. The pie can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
