  • 1 lb ground beef You can swap for ground turkey or plant-based alternatives.
  • 3 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half or whole milk.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese You can use pepper jack or a blend of Mexican cheeses for variation.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch glass or ceramic pie pan.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pie pan to form the base.
Assembly and Baking
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Pour the egg mixture over the seasoned beef in the pie pan.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes until the edges are crisp and the cheese is golden.
  5. Allow the pie to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

This pie pairs beautifully with a fresh green salad, guacamole, sour cream, or salsa. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
