  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Bring to room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar is recommended
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Decoration
  • 1/2 cup colorful sprinkles Can be substituted with festive sugar crystals

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, integrating fully before adding the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough and swirl in food coloring to create festive colors.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and coat in colorful sprinkles.
  8. Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet and slightly flatten them.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  2. Cool on the baking sheet for a few moments before transferring to a wire rack.
