Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 bananas Peeled and sliced
  • 1 apple Peeled and sliced
  • 1 pear Peeled and sliced
  • 1 handful red berries Use fresh or thawed frozen berries
Custard mixture
  • 2 eggs Whisked with cream
  • 100 ml liquid cream Heavy cream or substitute
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey Optional for extra sweetness
For baking
  • Butter For greasing the gratin dish
  • Grated almonds or grated coconut Optional topping for texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Peel and slice the bananas, apple, and pear into generous pieces.
  3. Butter a gratin dish generously.
  4. Arrange the fruit artfully in the dish.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, and vanilla sugar. Add honey if desired.
Baking
  1. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the arranged fruit.
  2. Sprinkle toasted almonds or shredded coconut on top.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  4. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. For added flavor, consider spicing the custard with cinnamon or orange zest.
