Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Peel the bananas, apple, and pear, then chop them into bite-sized pieces.
- If using frozen red berries, thaw and drain them.
- Butter a gratin dish and arrange the fruits artistically.
Custard Mixture
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs along with the cream and vanilla sugar. If desired, add a splash of honey.
- Pour this mixture over the arranged fruits.
- Sprinkle with grated almonds or shredded coconut, if using.
Baking
- Slide the dish into the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the gratin to sit for a moment before serving.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added indulgence. Storage: Cover leftovers with cling wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to two days.
