Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the brioche dough into 12 equal portions and roll each piece into a ball before flattening into a disk.
- Spoon 1 tablespoon of vanilla custard in the center of each disk and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips.
- Bring the edges together and pinch to seal, creating a snug embrace for the filling.
Baking
- Place crafted brioches on the baking sheet and brush with an egg wash made from the beaten egg and milk.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days. For longer storage, freeze individual brioches wrapped in parchment paper.
