Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs; mix until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, blend softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy; spread over the batter.
- Spoon remaining batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Whisk together cocoa powder and milk; drizzle over the top layer.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cooling completely before slicing.
Notes
Slice this cake into generous squares. Best served with coffee or milk. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
