Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease four ramekins and place them in a large baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, sweetener, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the mixture evenly into the greased ramekins.
- Boil water and pour it into the baking dish, surrounding the ramekins with about an inch of water.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, until the tops are set but still slightly firm.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. You can serve warm or refrigerate to enjoy later.
Notes
For serving, consider adding a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon, or fresh berries on top. Custard can be stored in sealed containers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or frozen for up to six months.
