Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray it lightly with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder using a hand mixer until smooth.
- Let the mixture sit for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla to the mixture and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool for about 30 minutes.
Frosting
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cocoa powder, and corn syrup until smooth.
- Add the milk and powdered sugar, whisking until you achieve a thick frosting.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies and cut into squares.
Notes
For extra decadence, swirl in peanut butter or Nutella before baking. Add a sprinkle of coarse sea salt on top of the frosting for a sweet-savory delight. Reheat leftovers in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
