  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until everything is blended to perfection.
Baking
  1. Using a spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, allowing space for spreading.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are crisp and centers are chewy.
Finishing Touches
  1. Let cookies cool on baking sheets before drizzling with creamy maple icing.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
