  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Frying and Serving
  • Oil Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Using a funnel, pour the batter into the hot oil in a spiral shape.
  3. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
