  • 4 pieces Eier Fresh eggs for best flavor
  • 150 g Zucker
  • 1 Päckchen Vanillezucker
  • 150 ml Öl
  • 150 ml Milch
  • 200 g gemahlene Haselnüsse (oder Mandeln) Use ground hazelnuts or almonds
  • 200 g Mehl Can substitute with gluten-free flour if needed
  • 1 Päckchen Backpulver
  • 400 ml Schlagsahne
  • 2 Päckchen Sahnesteif For stabilizing whipped cream
  • 2 EL Puderzucker
  • 200 g Frischkäse Optional for added stability
  • gehackte Nüsse For topping
  • Puderzucker For dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C (356 °F) and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the oil and milk, stirring until smooth.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and ground nuts in another bowl, then fold into the egg mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, then cool completely.
Cream Preparation
  1. Whip the cream with cream stiffener and powdered sugar until peaks form; mix in cream cheese if desired for an extra creamy touch.
Assembly
  1. Slice the cooled cake horizontally, spread cream on the bottom layer, place the top layer back, then cover with the remaining cream.
  2. Decorate with chopped nuts and dust with powdered sugar.
  3. Chill for 20–30 minutes for cleaner slices before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled. Pair with coffee or tea. Can experiment with different nuts or toppings for variations.
