Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 packages 15.35 oz packages of Oreo cookies Reserve 1 cup of crumbs for topping
  • 1 package 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 box 1 lb box of powdered sugar
  • 1 container 12 oz container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 package 3.9 oz package of instant chocolate pudding mix
  • to taste Gummy worms (for garnish)
  • to taste Chocolate sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs with a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin. Be sure to reserve 1 cup of the crumbs for topping later.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until well combined.
  4. Fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
  5. In another bowl, whisk the milk and instant chocolate pudding mix together until smooth and thickened, which should take about 2 minutes.
  6. Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
  7. In a 9x13 inch dish, layer half of the crushed Oreo cookies on the bottom. Pour half of the cream cheese and pudding mixture over the cookies. Repeat with the remaining Oreo crumbs and cream cheese mixture.
  8. Top the cake with the reserved Oreo crumbs and garnish with gummy worms and chocolate sprinkles if desired.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Notes

For those seeking to add a little twist, consider mixing in chopped nuts or a layer of caramel sauce. You could also try using different flavors of pudding or swapping in other cookie varieties.
