Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add sugar and stir until it becomes a smooth caramel, light golden brown.
- Carefully add the pear halves to the skillet, cut side down. Cook for about 10 minutes, until softened and slightly golden.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the pears, tucking the edges down.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then carefully flip onto a serving plate.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven before serving.
