  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until a creamy dough forms.
Coloring & Shaping
  1. Divide your dough into small portions and mix in various food colorings.
  2. Roll the colored dough into balls and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Gently flatten the balls slightly and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let the cookies cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. You can freeze the dough for up to three months.
