  • 200 g Flour
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 200 g Butter Do not skimp on the butter for a rich flavor.
  • 4 pieces Eggs
  • 1 packet Baking Powder
Filling Ingredients
  • 200 g Quark Can be substituted with Greek yogurt.
  • 200 g Cream
  • 1 packet Vanilla Sugar
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa for decoration For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one by one, mixing well.
  4. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then fold it into the butter mixture.
  5. Spread the batter onto a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Filling and Assembly
  1. Once the cake is cooled, mix together the quark, cream, and vanilla sugar.
  2. Slice the cooled cake horizontally, slather the filling on the bottom half, and place the top back on.
  3. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa.
  4. Chill in the fridge before serving.

Notes

Store in the fridge for 3–4 days in an airtight container. Consider adding lemon or orange zest to the filling for extra flavor.
