Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Add eggs one by one, mixing well.
- Sift together the flour and baking powder, then fold it into the butter mixture.
- Spread the batter onto a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Filling and Assembly
- Once the cake is cooled, mix together the quark, cream, and vanilla sugar.
- Slice the cooled cake horizontally, slather the filling on the bottom half, and place the top back on.
- Sprinkle with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa.
- Chill in the fridge before serving.
Notes
Store in the fridge for 3–4 days in an airtight container. Consider adding lemon or orange zest to the filling for extra flavor.
