- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs.
- Sift in the flour, ground cinnamon, and baking powder.
- Grate three apples into the batter and mix thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into the tin.
- Slice the remaining apples and arrange them on top, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar for that extra touch of sweetness.
- Bake for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For added crunch, consider adding chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
