Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spray the baking dish with non-stick spray.
- In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix until creamy.
- If necessary, warm the bowl of cream cheese using hot water to achieve room temperature.
Assembly
- Cut the sugar cookie dough in half and press half into the bottom of the baking dish to form a crust.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Break the remaining cookie dough into chunks and scatter on top.
Baking
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for at least an hour before serving. Optionally add sprinkles or powdered sugar on top.
Notes
For best results, ensure cream cheese is at room temperature. Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor. These bars can also be frozen for up to two months.
