Ingredients

For the Tea
  • 4 cups water for boiling
  • 1 family-size tea bag family-size tea bag or 3 regular-size bags
For the Syrup
  • 3/4 cup sugar to sweeten the tea
  • 3/4 cup honey to sweeten the tea
  • 1 cup water for the syrup
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed or 2 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
For Serving
  • 2 cups frozen peaches for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Remove the water from the heat, add the tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes. Pour the tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, honey, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Add the pureed peaches and return to a low boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Pour the syrup through a mesh sieve held over a small bowl. Press on the peaches to squeeze out as much juice as possible, discarding the peach pulp.
  6. Add the syrup to the peach tea, taste-testing as you go until it reaches the desired sweetness.
Serving
  1. Divide the frozen peaches between 4 glasses, add ice, and pour the tea over the peaches and ice.
  2. Store any unused peach syrup in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a unique flair, consider adding a squeeze of lemon or a dash of vanilla extract. Adjust sugar and honey to taste. If the syrup becomes too thick, thin it out with a splash of water before serving.
