  • 5 tbsp all-purpose flour
Frosting Mixture
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation of Base
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the whole milk and flour. Stir until the mixture thickens into a custard-like consistency. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Preparing the Frosting Mixture
  1. In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until light, fluffy, and pale.
Combining Mixtures
  1. Once the milk mixture is cooled, add it to the butter mixture and beat for five minutes until smooth and fluffy.

Notes

Ensure both the butter and milk mixture are at room temperature for best results. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
