  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting Dust before serving for best appearance.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg yolks, vanilla, and almond extracts, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually fold in the flour and salt until blended into a dough.
  5. Roll the dough into balls or shape as desired and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  2. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

These cookies can be served with hot cocoa, coffee, or spiced cider. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
