Ingredients

Shrimp and Seasoning
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter For cooking the shrimp
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
Rice and Cream Mixture
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese for topping
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese for topping
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease your baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp, along with paprika, salt, and pepper; let them cook until tender, roughly 1-2 minutes per side, before setting aside to cool.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, heavy cream, milk, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  5. Once mixed, gently fold in half of the cooked shrimp, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.
Baking
  1. Transfer this mixture into the prepared baking dish, topping it generously with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  2. Layer the remaining shrimp on top, ensuring every bite is filled with delight.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown, then broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for that perfect crispy crown.
  4. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For an added depth of flavor, consider incorporating a splash of white wine or lemon juice to the shrimp while sautéing. For a crispy topping, broil just before serving. Serve with cheesy garlic bread for extra delight.
