  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (heat-treated) Ensure cake mix is heat-treated for safety.
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Use room-temperature cream cheese for better blending.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup Valentine’s sprinkles (plus extra for topping)

Preparation
  1. Heat treat the cake mix by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy and well combined.
  4. Gradually beat in the cooled cake mix until fully blended and smooth.
  5. Fold in the whipped topping gently to keep it light and airy.
  6. Stir in mini marshmallows and Valentine’s sprinkles for texture and color.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl, top with extra sprinkles, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Ensure the cake mix is heat treated for safety. Chill for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to develop and the fluff to firm up. Variations include swapping with red velvet or funfetti cake mixes for different themes. Serve with graham crackers, wafers, or fresh strawberries for dipping.
