  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Dark brown sugar can be used for a richer taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Can substitute with other spices like nutmeg.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For sautéing the apples.
For assembly
  • 4 cups whipped cream Can use store-bought whipped cream.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce For drizzling on top.

Method
 

Cooking the Apples
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assembling Dessert Cups
  1. Layer the caramelized apples and whipped cream in dessert cups.
  2. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed chilled. Can add extra caramel sauce or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
